Karma Needs Advice From Players :)

So yesterday I got a Baby Orca in a...random event? I guess that's what they are called. Anyways, it is supposed to give +2 training sessions a day, I assume to the pet you equip it on.

Here's my thing. I really want to breed a good line of pups, so this would be helpful. However, I am having some serious problems earning cash. (Yes, I read the money making guide, still no dice). So I am wondering, if you got it, would you keep it or sell it, and why? I am trying to make the best decision for me here, and I don't feel I can do that without more input. So any advice would be great. Just looking for opinions really.

Note to self: Not a screw up. :)
Further note to self: Buy Scholar Collar. LOL

So my main thing here is, I would really like to start a new line. I talked to Zander (we used to play on Foo together) and he was informing me a bit about this. But I figure in order to get to a decent gen (say 4) with no linebreeding or inbreeding, I will need 8 foundation dogs. 4 pairs that will breed only with each other. Then their pups will breed only with each other and so on.

My question here is, if I open a side account, can I transfer some of my funds and dogs over there? I'd like to maybe start a Shetland Sheepdog line (though judging by the Auction page, not too sure on their popularity) and maybe a German Shepherd line. I'm debating which would be a better fit. I currently own 3 Shetland foundation pups, but am worried that their popularity may be so low that it may not be worth the effort.

Also thanks for the peptalk Gracie :). I plan to upgrade for the year at the next double or triple bone sale. I am just waiting because I want to get my money's worth hehe.

Don't be too hard on yourself; you can't "screw up" while playing Alacrity since it's up to every person how s/he wants to play. :) Sometimes I buy dogs just for their pretty looks. Sometimes I even max them planning to breed but then change my mind. xD It might be a waste of training to some people, but at least I can breed at a moment's notice if I change my mind. It's all how you look at it!

Do you have a side account yet? Players are allowed to have two accounts on Alacrity. That would help you with both income and kennel spaces. You can then play the games on two accounts every day, and you'll be able to get more slots on your side without bones. It may keep you organized, too - I keep most of my sentimental and eye candy dogs on my side. :)

If you're hoping to do a lot of training and breeding, you may want to look into the Scholar Collar item. When you equip it to a dog (and it has unlimited reuse), that dog gets double the training from each session you use on it. You can find them in the Cash Boutique or possibly user stores. They're expensive, but worth it in the long run for training. ^^ If I were a new player, that's how I would spend the RE item money.

Okay yeah, then I already screwed up. I have 13 dogs lol. 3 are for sale as I didn't understand TP when I first arrived and bought them solely because they looked pretty. *facepalm* Now I have some average dogs like what you suggest, some very high dogs and some foundation dogs. I plan to max them all over time, but I'm starting with two for now. I won't be trying any trials til I max one. I am in way over my head here I guess.

Wellll for new users, I usually suggest that they get only about one or two dogs, and keep them in reasonable TP, like anywhere from 100-300.

You can get those from sales or the foundation auction, Then, you can breed those :)

You don't necessarily need a lot of food unless you have a lot of dogs ^^

And trialing is when you put your dog in trials and get money in relation to the dog's TP. So for example, a 300 TP dog might make about $600 in trials (just making number up, don't know how much it actually makes). But you have to max your dog first and strategically place them in trials where they will win first place :3

Well you know, buying some good breeders and keeping food, toys, and brushes were my main concerns. What is trailing? I am totally new at this. But someone had suggested that I might want to look into breeding a fresh line and that was something I took an immediate interest in.

Then I thought, in order to start one, wouldn't I need at least about 8 foundation dogs to start with? Four pairs to breed. Because I would have to keep breeding them as mates to keep from line or inbreeding them. With four pairs, I figure I could get to gen four pups at least. That's going to take a bit of startup cash though lol.

Plus I need it for slots. I have maxed the slots for this account already, but now I need to buy bones for more slots. I like a variety of pets I guess is the problem lol. I got in over my head in the beginning because I didn't understand the scope or direction of the game. Now that I do, I am over my head.

ADD: Also I am trying to sell it now. If I can't get a good price for it, I'll keep it I guess. But I figure it's worth a shot. :)

Well, I myself would maybe keep it since you won't make too much off of it since its a RE :/

Also for me, +2 sessions means nothing unlessI have a few of those companions.

What exactly do you need money for? Because if you have a few dogs, training them all the way and then trailing is a good idea ^^
